Annual Litter Pick
The 4th Beaconsfield Scout Group held their Annual Litter Pick in the town during the week of 4th June. This year they were supported by The Beaconsfield Society, Beaconsfield Town Council and the newly formed Plastic-Free Beaconsfield group.
We collected an astonishing 223kg of litter from our Town. Many helped during the week and a fantastic 25 people turned up to help on Saturday. There are a few pictures below..... see YOU NEXT YEAR?!
Details and our 2018 poster:
The Scouts will collect litter during their weekly meetings. This means we will have around 200 children and Leaders ridding our streets of rubbish over five days.
We would like to invite you and your members to help with this community event and there are several ways to do this:
-
Arrange to litter pick with your members in the street next to your venue during the week.
-
Ask your members to check their own streets and do an individual litter pick.
-
Encourage dog walkers to check the local footpaths for litter, overgrown greenery and brambles and any fly tipping.
-
Come along and join us on the Council Green on Saturday 9th June.
-
Nominate any ‘Grot spots’ you think we could try and tackle.
-
Spread the word and encourage people to join us.
Please join us, even if you can only spare a little time. Last year we collected over 200kg of litter so every minute you can help is really worthwhile.
We will provide all litter picking equipment, so please let us know if you would like to get involved below
