South Bucks District Council (SBDC) submitted the draft Local Plan (and copies of all consultation responses) to the planning inspectorate on 26th September and 2 planning inspectors have already been appointed. Unfortunately SBDC are only two thirds of the way through trying to load the consultation responses onto their web-site and so the responses cannot yet be viewed by the public. Our view is that SBDC have acted prematurely in submitting the Plan to the Inspectorate and that their regulation statement accompanying it is incomplete, contains errors and is wholly lacking in detail. The haste with which SBDC has submitted the Plan quite frankly smacks of hustle.
However, we must be ready to go to the Local Plan hearings whenever the planning inspectorate schedule them. It is crucial that our planning consultants and QC attend the hearings to put Beaconsfield’s case to the planning inspector on behalf of us all. Unfortunately this will be expensive but necessary as SBDC plough on with this ill-conceived Plan. The money we have raised so far has enabled us to submit detailed specialist evidence for consideration by the planning inspector, but we now need to raise the same amount again.
So, there are a couple of things we would really appreciate your help with.
Firstly, please donate to the campaign at http://www.beaconsfieldnow.org.uk/save-our-green-belt/save-our-green-belt-donate-now/ as without sufficient funds we cannot see this through.
Secondly, we would love to get as many supporters together as possible for a fun quiz night (on general knowledge, not Green Belt!) and supper on Saturday 9th November at 7pm for a prompt 7.30pm start. The venue is Davenies School, Station Road. Bring a team of 8 but we can assemble teams if you don’t have a ready-made one. The cost is £25 per head, including supper, with all proceeds going to the campaign. Please e-mail thebecsoc@gmail.com to book your place.
Thanks for your support and we look forward to seeing you at the quiz!
