The Local Plan is an important planning document which sets out the many planning policies which are used to assess and decide planning applications. When you submit a planning application, or wish to object to one, these are the policies used by South Bucks District Council (SBDC) to decide whether to grant or refuse planning permission. Here you can read the planning policies within the Local Plan which are currently in force. SBDC and Chiltern District Council (CDC) are currently in the process of preparing an emerging Local Plan which will replace the existing one. The emerging plan is controversial because it is expected to re-draw green belt boundaries and remove large areas from the green belt. This would mean that former green belt areas would be free from their current restrictions against development.
